Starter Analysis
SENIOR was a late supplemental entry and is facing an uphill battle. He was fourth at 25-1 in his only start, a one mile maiden turf race won by Silent Soul. He actually closed pretty well to be beaten two lengths, but has picked a tough spot to make his stakes debut. Connections are always willing to take a sporting shot, and this isn't the toughest Grade One ever run, but inexperience is likely going to find him back in a maiden race for his next start.

Pedigree Analysis :: Bay colt, 2; by Arch - Croupier (Go For Gin)
SENIOR is by the Claiborne stallion Arch, winner of five of seven starts, including the Super Derby (GI) and the Fayette (GIII) at Keeneland, when he set a track record for the 1 3/16 miles and defeated Belmont (GI) winner Touch Gold in the process. With four crops of racing age, he has 13 stakes winners and 30 2-year-old winners, a 16% clip. His top performer, Overarching, was a two-time champion sprinter in South Africa. Stateside, his best runner is the Grade One winner Prince Arch. Senior is the first runner, and second foal, from his dam Croupier. Croupier was stakes placed at four, and is a half-sister to a nice Texas bred in Padlock. Though there isn’t a lot of black type in her first couple of generations, his fourth dam Glisk produced the multiple stakes winner Glow and Lustra, winner of the Thanksgiving Handicap, possibly better known as the “rabbit” for Cryptoclearance.
