Starter Analysis
SUPER FREAKY's current eight-race losing streak doesn't look good when you consider that many of her foes are in much better form. She broke very slow in her last race and basically eliminated herself from the race. But the big issue is that she hasn't shown the form that carried her to a pair of stakes wins in the spring of 2007. A better break would help her chances, but she looks to have a big mountain to climb.

Pedigree Analysis :: Bay filly, 4; by Smart Strike - El Rose (Deputy Minister)
SUPER FREAKY is one of only two in the CashCall Mile (La Tee) to have made all her starts in the United States. She broke her maiden the first time she raced on the grass, back in October 2006, and for the most part has remained on the lawn since then. She has an even 3-3-3 record in 16 starts overall, with all of the wins coming at Santa Anita. She’s had a steady diet of graded stakes in the last 15 months, but has only found the winner’s circle once, in the Providencia (gr. IIIT). She did have a rough trip in the Las Cienegas (gr. IIIT) on Santa Anita’s downhill turf course two starts back, or her overall record may have been better.

Super Freaky is by North America’s leading sire of 2007, Smart Strike. He hails from the long line of blue bloods from the great Canadian Thoroughbred operation Sam Son Farm. A half-brother to champion Dance Smartly out of the great Mr. Prospector, Smart Strike was a Grade I winner on the dirt, but he has proven to be an all-around solid sire with top class runners on both turf and dirt. His runners last year were led by 2007 Horse of the Year Curlin and leading turf horse and multiple graded winner English Channel, Alcibiades (gr. II) winner Bel Air Beauty, and English Group Two winner Tungsten Strike. With a total of over 50 stakes winners to date, he has sired five Canadian champions, including Horse of the Year Soaring Free. Super Freaky is out of Elrose, who is a half-sister to 1997 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Silver Charm
