Starter Analysis
DIAMOND DIVA's success and recency on the Hollywood turf course should be quite a benefit for a filly that already has the credentials to win the race. Couldn't quite last in the Gamely (GI), so the change back to the mile is another obvious plus. Also gets Flores back, who rode her to victory in the Wilshire (GIII). So, with all these positives, is there anything that could make her vulnerable? Maybe if she comes out headstrong and wants the lead with the other speedsters she could be vulnerable late, but her class should carry her. Very logical pick for the win.

Pedigree Analysis ::Dark Bay filly, 4; by Dansili (GB) - Vivianna (GB) (Indian Ridge (Ire))
DIAMOND DIVA has been a pretty consistent filly, with five wins and five seconds in 15 lifetime starts. Her first dozen races were in her native England, where she had some success but had a string of four consecutive seconds in stakes races. She didn't run in a graded race until coming to the States earlier this year. Whether it was the change in environment or some other factor, she's won two of three in California, including the Wilshire Handicap (gr. IIT). Most recently she was second to Precious Kitten, who will skip the CashCall, in the Gamely (gr. IT).

Diamond Diva is a daughter of the Juddmonte Europe stallion Dansili, who stood his first season in 2001. Dansili is a full brother to American turf champions Banks Hill, who was a multiple grade one winner in Europe and the United States, including the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (gr. I) and Intercontinental, who won the same Breeders' Cup race, as well as another pair of Grade One winners in Heat Haze and Cacique. While not as accomplished on the track as his siblings, Dansili did win over a half million in his career, finishing off the board only twice in his 14 starts. His biggest victories came in the Prix du Muguet (gr. II) and the Prix Edmond Blanc (gr. III), both at Saint Cloud in France. And while Banks Hill and Intercontinental could cover about any distance, Dansili specialized at eight furlongs, including a third place finish in the Breeders' Cup Mile (GI). To date, Dansili has sired 30 stakes winning horses, easily topped by Rail Link, winner of the 2006 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (gr. I).
