Starter Analysis
MISSIT is likely to get one of the best trips of any in the field. She's a stalker that will likely not be surrounded by other fillies, and since the race isn't full of speed, she should be able to make an unimpeded move to the lead prior to the deep closers. She's been doing battle with Bel Air Sizzle and Magical Fantasy; they've taken turns getting the best of each other. Now that trio will enter the deeper waters, and they might not like what they see as far as the shippers from across the Atlantic or the East Coast for that matter. Can't fault those who liked her races here, but looking for others for the top spot.

Pedigree Analysis :: Bay filly, 3; by Orpen - High Spot (GB) (Shirley Heights (GB))
MISSIT (IRE), much like Magical Fantasy, began her career in Great Britain before being imported to the United States earlier this year. Missit also only had one win in five starts overseas, but she was second in a Group 2 at age two, so she was somewhat more accomplished than her American Oaks foe. She also raced on the grass rather than the Polytrack there. Here in southern California, she won the Providencia (gr. IIT) and checked in fourth, as the favorite, in the Honeymoon (gr. IIT). This will be her first start beyond nine furlongs. Missit is by Orpen, one of the few foals from the first crop of Lure, a two-time winner of the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. I). Orpen was Lure's very first winner, and was a Group One winner at two, earning championship honors for that year in Ireland. As a sire, his offspring have done their best at slightly lesser distance than the Oaks' 10 furlongs. He has sired at least nine graded or group winners, most of them European runners, but also Cinema Handicap (gr. III) winner Genre. Orpen is a half-brother to the graded winner Jules (Nashua; gr. III).
