Starter Analysis |
|
BEL AIR SIZZLE would add some heat to the tote board if she were to pull out the win. That doesn't necessarily mean she'll be a big price, but that she could well get overlooked despite being competitive in the last couple of graded stakes here. With her lack of early foot, look for her to be among a good-sized group galloping along until the real running starts. She has a decent finishing kick, but could encounter some traffic problems if others get moving first. Her best effort could easily land her in the top three, and with a little luck, the winner's circle. |

Pedigree Analysis :: Dark Bay filly, 3; by Unusual Heat - Bel Air Belle (Runaway Groom) |
|
BEL AIR SIZZLE took a while to break her maiden (five starts to be exact), but after the early struggles, she hasn't missed a top three placing in six races. California homebred has not been out of this state, and has been pretty tough when she goes against restricted company. She has earned the bulk of her $300K bankroll in turf events and will be trying the 10 furlongs for the first time.
The homebred Bel Air Sizzle is by Unusual Heat, California's leading sire of 2008 and the leading turf sire of 2008 in North America, has had 203 starters with 138 winners and earnings of more than $14,500,000 from seven crops. He is the sire of 22 stakes horses, including five graded stakes winners and six graded-placed winners. Tops among his offspring are Tucked Away, Golden Doc A, Unusual Suspect, Lethal Heat and Spenditallbaby. Bel Air Sizzle's dam Bel Air Belle has just one other foal to race other than the subject filly, and that won is a winner of just 1 of 20 starts to date.
