U R All That I Am Seeks Fran’s Valentine Repeat

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (May 19, 2011)—U R All That I Am will try to become the first two time winner of the $70,000 Fran’s Valentine Stakes when the one mile turf race for California bred fillies and mares is run for the 16th time Sunday at Hollywood Park.

Owned by breeder Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, U R All That I Am won the race by 2 ¼ lengths in 2010 as the 2-1 second choice.

The 5-year-old daughter of Valid Wager and the Fort Calgary mare Fort Silver has won twice in nine subsequent starts, including the $50,000 Work the Crowd April 23 at Golden Gate Fields. She has won 10 of 24 overall and earned $404,529.

Lady Railrider will make her Hollywood Park grass debut in the Fran’s Valentine. Owned by breeders Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and trained by Steve Specht, the 6-year-old daughter of Ride the Rails and the Lord Carson mare Lady Evergreen has won nine of 26, banking $540,800. She was second to Ultra Blend in the B. Thoughtful over Cushion Track in her first race of the Spring/Summer meet April 23.

This will be her fifth career outing on turf. She has yet to be worse than third, winning once in 2009 at Golden Gate.

Fifth of seven in the B. Thoughtful, Warren’s Jitterbug returns to her preferred surface for owner-breeder Benjamin Warren and trainer Jorge Gutierrez. The 4-year-old Affirmation filly and the Peaks and Valleys mare Jitterbug Jan has earned all three of her lifetime wins on grass. She has competed nine times on the surface. Overall, she has started 18 times and earned $241,738.

Ruffled Feathers will be hoping to end a four race losing streak for a partnership that includes Steve Lavino and Michael Riordan and trainer Paddy Gallagher. The 5-year-old Include mare out of the Awesome Again mare Diane Again has won four of 19 while earning $231,540. She has a win, two seconds and two thirds in six races on the Hollywood Park grass.

The winner of the 2010 Melair Stakes, Camille C has yet to win in five outings on turf for owner Carlos Polanco and trainer Marcelo Polanco. The 4-year-old Roman Dancer filly and the Rahy mare Paris Operetta has three wins in 22 attempts and a bankroll of $323,601.

Logical Single returns to Southern California after an allowance sprint win over Tapeta at Golden Gate April 10. Owned by breeder Harris Farms and trained by Dean Pederson, the 4-year-old Singletary filly and the Dynaformer mare Zoelu has won four of 12 and earned $155,102. She has a second and a third in two races on turf.

Jax El comes off a 10-1 upset in an optional claimer May 8 and was a 3 ¼ length winner the last time she faced California breds. Barry Abrams trains the 4-year-old Unusual Heat filly out of the Siphon mare Sci Fi Kin for breeder Madeline Auerbach and the Jack Klugman Revocable Trust. Jax El has won three of 13 and has a bankroll of $156,296.
