INGLEWOOD, Calif. (September 17, 2012)—Trailblazer, a double Group II winner in his native Japan, is now stabled at Betfair Hollywood Park for trainer Yasuo Ikee.
Owned by Maeda Yoko, the 5-year-old son of Zenno Rob Roy recently went through quarantine and is currently in Barn 50 South. Out of the Forty Niner mare Lirio, Trailblazer, who has won six of 20, is in California awaiting the Breeders’ Cup Turf Nov. 3 at Santa Anita.
An earner of $2, 912,376, Trailblazer, who was fourth in the Group I Japan Cup in 2011, could prep for the BC Turf in the $150,000 Arroyo Seco Mile Oct. 6 at Santa Anita.
Ikee is also the trainer of Orfevere, the reigning Horse of the Year in Japan who won the Group II Prix Foy at Longchamp Sunday.
The winner of the Japanese Triple Crown a year ago, Orfevre, a 4-year-old son of Stay Gold, who is a son of Sunday Silence, is scheduled to make his next start in the Group I Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Oct. 7.
