Tiz A Minister Shortens Up In Real Good Deal Stakes

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 30, 2013)—Tiz a Minister, who rallied from last to win the Grade III Affirmed Handicap June 2 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will seek his first victory at Del Mar in the $200,000 Real Good Deal Stakes Friday.

Restricted to 3-year-olds either bred or sired in California, the Real Good Deal, which will be run at seven furlongs over Polytrack, is the seventh of eight races.

Post time Friday at Del Mar is 4 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Trained by Paul Aguirre for Sayjay Racing LLC, Tiz a Minister won the Affirmed by one length over Den’s Legacy before finishing second to gate-to-wire winner Chief Havoc in the Grade II Swaps Stakes July 4.

A son of Ministers Wild Cat and the Cee’s Tizzy mare Tiz a Mistress, Tiz a Minister has won three of 14 and earned $450,780. He was fourth in the King Glorious Stakes last Dec. 16 at Betfair Hollywood Park in his only previous attempt at seven furlongs.
