INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 9, 2012)—My Best Brother, who earned the first two wins of his career at Betfair Hollywood Park, will try for his first graded stakes success in the $150,000 La Jolla Handicap Saturday at Del Mar.

A Grade II for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles on turf, the La Jolla is the eighth of 10 races. Post time Saturday is 2:05 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by breeders Bill Currin and Al Eisman and trained by Julio Canani, My Best Brother winless in three races before beginning his current win streak May 27. The son of Stormy Atlantic and the Carson City mare Wilshewed knocked off maidens by 2 ½ lengths going six furlongs in his second start on grass.

Stretched to a mile June 28, My Best Brother, who has earned $133,090 while going 3-for-6, led throughout to win an optional claimer by one length, then took the second division of the Oceanside Stakes – also at one mile – in his Del Mar debut July 18.
