INGLEWOOD, Calif. (May 23, 2010) — Hollywood Park will not offer live racing on Wednesday, May 26 due to a limited number of entries. The track will be open for simulcasting beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Live racing will resume on Thursday, May 27 with free general admission, a policy that will continue every Thursday until the end of June.

“We have determined that it is in the best interest of the industry for the races we do have sufficient entries for on Wednesday and Thursday to be combined into a single card on Thursday,’’ said Hollywood Park president Jack Liebau. “The action we are taking will result in Hollywood Park being able to present a representative card on Thursday and assure that there will be racing concurrently that day in both Southern and Northern California.’’

Liebau added that the races scheduled for Wednesday that had at least six entrants will be run – provided they stay intact – over the Memorial Day weekend. This could mean additional races will be run Friday-Monday.
