INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 8, 2013)—The $2,500 winner-take-all Show Me The Money contest is down to two participants heading into the final seven days of the last Autumn meet at Betfair Hollywood Park.

The free challenge, which began Nov. 10 with 1,714 players, requires a participant to choose one horse each racing day – in six designated races – at least 10 minutes prior to the first race. The selected horse must finish first, second or third for a player to continue.

The last player standing wins the cash. Should both contestants – John Kent of Columbus, Ohio and Stephen Pordon of Longmont, Colorado – be alive at the conclusion of racing Dec. 22 – closing day – the winner will be decided by tiebreaker.

Number of wins is the first tiebreaker and Kent has all but clinched in that category. He currently has nine victories, six more than Pordon.

Kent’s selection Sunday was second race winner Amazing Hearted while Pordon chose Exotic Behavior, who finished third in the fifth.

Carol Madrick (Mission Viejo) and Herbert Johnson (Maysville, Kentucky) were eliminated Sunday, the 17th day of the contest.

Madrick chose Appealing Tale, who finished fourth in the ninth race. Tebowing, Johnson’s pick in the sixth, also ran fourth.
