INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 5, 2013)—Five players remain active in the $2,500 winner-take-all Show Me The Money contest at Betfair Hollywood Park.

The free challenge, which began Nov. 10 with 1,714 players, requires a participant to choose one horse each racing day – in six designated races – at least 10 minutes prior to the first race. The selected horse must finish first, second or third for a player to continue.

The last player standing receives the cash prize. Should more than one contestant still be alive at the conclusion of racing Dec. 22 – closing day of the final Autumn meet – the winner will be decided by tiebreaker. The first tiebreaker is number of wins.

The lone Californian still involved is Carol Madrick from Mission Viejo. The others: John Kent (Columbus, Ohio), Stephen Pordon (Longmont, Colorado), Herbert Johnson (Maysville, Kentucky) and William Joseph (Lexington, Indiana).

Madrick and Kent selected eighth race winner Market Notes Thursday. The choice for Joseph was seventh race winner Moone’s My Name while Johnson’s pick was A P Pepper, who won the second. Pordon’s selection was Gulsary, who finished third in the seventh.
