Midnight Music Seeks First U.S. Win In CTT & TOC `Cap

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 21, 2013)—Midnight Music and Miss Pippa, the 2-3 finishers in the Lucie Manet Stakes July 5 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will meet again Friday at Del Mar in the $90,000 CTT & TOC Handicap.

An ungraded affair for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and up at 1 3/8 miles on turf, the CTT (California Thoroughbred Trainers) and TOC (Thoroughbred Owners of California) is the sixth of seven races. Post time Friday at Del Mar is 4 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Trained by Tom Proctor for owner Gary Chervenell, Midnight Music was 1 ½ lengths behind stablemate Customer Base as the 8-5 favorite in the Lucie Manet.
A 5-year-old daughter of Dubawi and the Green Desert mare Midnight Mist, Midnight Music has won four of 15 and earned $135,187.

A little more than one length behind Midnight Music in the Manet, Miss Pippa will be making her second start of the Del Mar meet for Joy Ride Racing and trainer John Sadler. The 4-year-old Master Command filly finished second to Spring Bloom in an optional claimer Aug. 4.

Out of the Dumaani mare Scootin’ Girl, Miss Pippa has won two of nine and banked $129,252.
