INGLEWOOD, Calif. (May 5, 2012)—Betfair Hollywood Park had been the home of I’ll Have Another, who won the 138th Kentucky Derby Saturday at Churchill Downs, before the talented son of Flower Alley made his way east a week ago.
In fact, I’ll Have Another had five recorded works over Cushion Track between March 12-April 27 prior to his two biggest victories – the Santa Anita Derby April 7 and the Saturday score in America’s most famous race.
A Kentucky bred out of the Arch mare Edith’s Arch, I’ll Have Another is owned by J. Paul Reddam, the sponsor of the Grade I CashCall Futurity, a race which has produced many Triple Crown winners during its illustrious history.
The CashCall is run annually during Betfair Hollywood Park’s Autumn meet and has been won by the likes of A.P. Indy, Real Quiet, Point Given and Lookin At Lucky.
Doug O’Neill, the trainer of I’ll Have Another for a career that spans six races, is no stranger to success at Betfair Hollywood Park. O’Neill, who will turn 44 May 24, has won 10 local training titles here, including a sweep of the Spring/Summer and Autumn meets in 2010.
