Hollywood Park’s 60-Day Spring/Summer Meet Opens April 21; Simulcast Wagering Only On Six Thursdays At 13-Week Stand

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (April 6, 2010) — Hollywood Park, which generally conducts live racing five days a week, has scheduled six four-day weeks during the 2010 Spring/Summer Meet, which begins Wednesday, April 21.

The majority of weeks at the 60-day meeting will run under the traditional Wednesday-through-Sunday format. On six Thursdays, however, there will be simulcast wagering only with no live racing on April 22, April 29, June 3, July 1, July 8 and July 15.

There will be special holiday programs on Monday, May 31 – Memorial Day – and on Monday, July 5 in honor of The Fourth of July.

Regular post time will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays with the traditional 7:05 p.m. start on Friday nights. The lone exception in the Friday night schedule will be a 1 p.m. post time on April 30 — Kentucky Oaks Day and eve of the Kentucky Derby.

Post time will be at 11 a.m. on the three Triple Crown Days — Kentucky Derby Day (May 1), Preakness Day (May 15) and Belmont Day (June 5).
