INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 29, 2012)—Exectuiveprivilege, who earned her first stakes victory in the Landaluce July 14 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will try to stay undefeated in the $300,000 Del Mar Debutante Saturday at Del Mar.

A Grade I for 2-year-old fillies at seven furlongs, the Debutante is the ninth of 11 races. Post time is 2:05 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman and trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, Executiveprivilege began her career June 28 at Betfair Hollywood Park, overcoming a horrible start to win by 4 ½ lengths as the 4-5 favorite.

After her 3 ¼ length score in the Landaluce, the daughter of First Samurai and the Unaccounted For mare Refugee made her graded debut in the Sorrento, winning the Grade III over Polytrack by 1 ¼ lengths.

A $650,000 purchase at a Florida sale in April, Executiveprivilege has earned $210,000. If she wins Saturday, the Kentucky bred would be the first to complete the Landaluce-Del Mar Debutante sweep since Arewehavingfunyet in 1985 for Spendthrift Farm and trainer D. Wayne Lukas.

The field of nine also includes Miss Empire, who won the Cinderella Stakes June 16 over Cushion Track. The Empire Maker filly has one win in four starts for owners Gary and Cecil Barber and Kevin Tsujihara and trainer Peter Miller.

From inside out, the field for the 62nd Del Mar Debutante: Heir Kitty, Corey Nakatani rides, 118 pounds; Pat’s Back, Patrick Valenzuela, 118; Miss Empire, Kevin Krigger, 122; Speedinthruthecity, Joe Talamo; 118; Wasted At Midnight, Ricardo Jaime, 116; Mechaya, Martin Garcia, 118; Renee’s Titan, Edwin Maldonado, 116; Executiveprivilege, Rafael Bejarano, 122 and Beholder, Garrett Gomez, 118.
