INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 6, 2012)—Executiveprivilege, who remained perfect in two starts with a decisive victory in the Landaluce Stkes July 14 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will make her graded debut in the $150,000 Sorrento Wednesday at Del Mar.

A Grade III for 2-year-old fillies at 6 ½ furlongs over Polytrack, the Sorrento is the seventh of eight races. Post time Wednesday is 2:05 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman and trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, Executiveprivilege overcame a horrible start to win her debut June 21 before scoring as the 3-10 choice in the Landaluce.

If successful Wednesday, the daughter of First Samurai and the Unaccounted For mare Refugee would be the first Landaluce winner to repeat in the Sorrento since Buffythecenterfold in 2002.

A $650,000 purchase at a Florida sale in April, Executiveprivilege has earned $120,000. Baffert is seeking his sixth Sorrento victory. His most recent win came with Inspiring in 2004.

The field also includes Landaluce runner-up Speedinthruthecity and Renee’s Titan, a first out winner June 21 over Cushion Track.

From inside out, the field for the 44th Sorrento Stakes: O Happy Gray, Victor Espinoza rides, 119 pounds; Renee’s Titan, Corey Nakatani, 117; Serious, Alonso Quinonez, 117; Wittgenstein, Martin Garcia, 117; Somethingabouther, Mike Smith, 119; Speedinthruthecity, Joe Talamo, 119; Executiveprivilege, Rafael Bejarano, 123; Switch to the Lead, Yuichi Fukunaga, 119 and Bares Tripper, Garrett Gomez, 117.
