Drill Gets Class Relief In Governor’s Cup Handicap; Pick Six Carryover Awaits Wednesday At Barretts

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (September 16, 2013)—Drill, who won the Grade III Lazaro Barrera Memorial Stakes in 2012 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will try for his first win as a 4-year-old in the $75,000 Governor’s Cup Handicap Wednesday at the Barretts Race Meet at Fairplex Park.

Scheduled for 6 ½ furlongs, the Governor’s Cup is the ninth of 10 races. Post time is 4 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10:15 a.m. for simulcasts.

Trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert for Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman, Drill will be dropping in class Wednesday after competing in eight consecutive graded events.

rien Stakes Aug. 25 at Del Mar. The winner of the Grade II was stablemate Fed Biz.
A $300,000 purchase at the 2010 Keeneland September sale, Drill has won four of 18 and earned $480,210.

The Governor’s Cup is the next-to-last leg of a Pick Six which has a carryover of $25,384. The Pick Six will begin in the fifth race, which has a scheduled post time of 5:40 p.m.
