Concave Looks To Remain Perect In Debutante

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 30, 2013)—Concave, a first out winner July 12 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will try to remain perfect in the $300,000 Del Mar Debutante Saturday at Del Mar.

A Grade I for 2-year-old fillies at seven furlongs over Polytrack, the Debutante is the ninth of 11 races. Post time Saturday at Del Mar is 2:05 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by J. Paul Reddam’s Reddam Racing LLC and trained by Doug O’Neill, Concave won by 3 ½ lengths over the BHP grass in her bow, then returned to take the Grade II Sorrento Aug. 7 at Del mar, defeating Landaluce Stakes winner She’s a Tiger by a half-length.

A daughter of Colonel John and the Ascot Knight mare Galadriel, Concave has earned $121,200.

The field of eight also includes Sprouts, who is owned and was bred by Reddam Racing LLC. The California bred daughter of Square Eddie, who is trained by Edward Freeman, has won three in a row, including a 3 ½ length victory in the Cinderella Stakes May 16 at BHP.
