INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 12, 2012)—Taking advantage of a dream trip, Arraignment won for a second time in a row, taking the $53,012 allowance feature (video) Thursday at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Claimed for $25,000 by trainer Ron Ellis for a partnership March 2, Arraignment is 2-for-3 since, including Thursday’s three-quarters of a length decision over favored Antidote and five others.

Content to track the pace set by longshot The Whammer with Antidote in close attendance, Arraignment swung out for clear sailing entering the stretch, got the lead in the final sixteenth of a mile and went on to win in 1:37.12 for the mile on turf.

Ridden by Jose Valdivia, Jr., who was also the jockey when the 4-year-old Include gelding defeated $25,000 claimers at the same distance June 17, Arraignment paid $7.80, $3.40 and $2.20 as the 5-2 second choice.

Out of the Victory Gallop mare Flowerette, Arraignment has won four of 16 and earned $123,727.

The 13-10 choice, Antidote saved the place by a nose over Robbie’s War. A 5-year-old son of Tiznow, Antidote is now winless in seven starts as the favorite. He returned $2.80 and $2.10.

The show price on Robbie’s War, who was making his initial appearance since finishing fifth in the Uniformity Stakes last Oct. 23, was $2.60.

The Whammer was fourth, a neck behind Robbie’s War and he was followed by Tropical Heat, Eric the Ram and Hasty Trend.

Racing resumes Friday. Post time is 7:05 p.m. General admission is $10 – $20 after 8:30 p.m.

At the conclusion of the eight race program, the final concert of the Spring/Summer will begin at the North Park. The show stars X and approximate start time is 10:30 p.m.
