INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 14, 2011)—Capital Plan won for the second time in three starts since being purchased privately in August, easily defeating four opponents in the $52,000 feature (video) Wednesday at Hollywood Park.

Owned by Mark DeDomenico and Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, the 3-year-old Rock Hard Ten filly out of the Strawberry Road mare Miss Dahlia took the lead before a quarter of a mile had been run, relaxed nicely under leading rider Joel Rosario and won by 3 ¾ lengths without being asked for her best.

Completing the 1 1/16 miles over Cushion Track in 1:43.48, Capital Plan returned $4, $2.60 and $2.40 as the even-money favorite. Second virtually the entire journey, Star Presence finished 4 ½ lengths clear of So Belle.

Never worse than third in five races over the Hollywood Park main track, Star Presence paid $3.40 and $2.80. The show price on So Belle, who was making her first start on a surface other than turf, was $2.60. Toro Bonito and Evita’s Sister completed the order of finish.

A winner once in three races for former owner Glen Hill Farm and trainer Tom Proctor, Capital Plan increased her bankroll to $102,500.

Rosario also won an optional claimer with heavily-favored Rowdy Gal to incrase his lead in the rider standings. With four days left in the Autumn meet, Rosario has 31 victories, leaving him three clear of Rafael Bejarano and six in front of Martin Garcia.

If Rosario wins the title, he would become the first jockey to lead the Autumn meet three consecutive years since Hall of Famer Chris McCarron won five in a row (1981-1985).

Racing resumes Thursday. Post time is 12:30 p.m.
