INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 17, 2011)—Cambina and Nereid, who finished in a dead heat in a thrilling Grade I American Oaks July 16 at Hollywood Park, were among 13 3-year-old fillies entered Wednesday for the $250,000 Del Mar Oaks.

A Grade I at 1 1/8 miles on turf, the Del Mar Oaks is the eighth of 10 races Sunday. Post time at Del Mar is 2 p.m. Track gates at Hollywood Park open at 10:30 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by a partnership and trained by Jeff Bonde, Cambina was able to earn a share of the victory despite encountering trouble in the stretch. An Irish bred daughter of Hawk Wing and the Peintre Celebre mare Await, Cambina has won six of 12 and earned $370,426. She will be reunited Saturday with jockey Garrett Gomez, who was aboard for three consecutive stakes wins earlier in the year at Santa Anita.
