INGLEWOOD, Calif. (February 17, 2012)—Cambina, who was involved in the first dead heat in the history of the American Oaks, will make her first start as a 4-year-old in the $150,000 Buena Vista Handicap Monday at Santa Anita.

A Grade II at one mile on turf, the Buena Vista is the eighth of nine races. Post time for the holiday card is 12:30 p.m. Track gates at Hollywood Park will open at 10:15 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by a partnership and trained by Jeff Bonde, Cambina rallied strongly in the closing yards to finish on even terms with Nereid in a thrilling renewal of the Grade I American Oaks during the Spring/Summer meet last July 16.

An Irish bred daughter of Hawk Wing and the Peintre Celebre mare Await, Cambina has won six of 15 and earned $390,426. Three of her victories have come over the Santa Anita grass.

The field also includes Wild Mia, who won the Redondo Beach Stakes last June while making her California debut, Camille C, the winner of the 2010 Melair Stakes during the California Gold Rush program and Briecat, whose stakes victories at Hollywood Park include the Cool Air last December and the 2010 Las Palmas Handicap during the Oak Tree season.
