Alpine Luck Tries To Remain Hot In Best Pal Stakes

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 1, 2013)—Hollywood Juvenile Championship winner Alpine Luck will try for his third win in a row in the $150,000 Best Pal Stakes Sunday at Del Mar.

A Grade II for 2-year-olds at 6 ½ furlongs over Polytrack, the Best Pal is the eighth of nine races. Post time Sunday at Del Mar is 2:05 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by breeder Heinz Steinmann and trained by Mike Harrington, Alpine Luck led throughout in the Hollywood Juvenile July 13 at Betfair Hollywood Park, ultimately prevailing by a half-length over Ontology.

The victory by the Lucky J.H. colt out of the Swiss Yodeler mare I Can Yodele came three weeks after he had gone gate-to-wire against maidens. He’s earned $146,784 in four starts.
