All Star Heart Seeks Grade I Glory At Woodbine

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (October 13, 2012)—All Star Heart, who won the Redondo Beach Stakes during the Spring/Summer meet at Betfair Hollywood Park, is one of the contenders in the $1 million E.P. Taylor Sunday at Woodbine.

A Grade I at 1 ¼ miles on turf, the Taylor is the eighth of 11 races. Scheduled post time is 1:38 p.m. PDT. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10:15 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by breeder Gerald Gibbs and trained by Hall of Famer Ron McAnally, All Star Heart has won six of 19 and earned $427,485.

Since her a half-length victory in the Redondo Beach June 10, the 5-year-old daughter of Arch and the Ascot Knight mare Gift of the Heart has subsequently finished second in two of three starts. One of the runner-up efforts came in the Grade II Canadian Sept. 16 at Woodbine. The Canadian-bred was defeated by 1 ½ lengths by Barefoot Lady, who is also in the Taylor lineup.
