INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 21, 2013)-The next-to-last day of racing in Betfair Hollywood Park history produced some pari-mutuel fireworks.

The $2 daily double in races 5-6 Saturday paid $3,728, making it the largest in Autumn meet history and third biggest in track history.

The two winners in the double were Luz Atticus, who returned $64.60 in winning the fifth race by a neck under apprentice jockey Gonzalo Nicolas, and Tribal Yodeler, who paid $88.80 in breaking her maiden by 1 ¼ lengths in the sixth under Irving Orozco, another apprentice.

The previous best for an Autumn meet was $2,484.40 when Rummysecret War and Hawaiian Springs won the fifth and sixth races Dec. 6, 2009.

Mystic Warrior and Gotta Do, the winners of the first two races July 10, 1962, produced the largest double in Hollywood Park history. The 10-9 combination that day returned $6,141.60.

Mintal and Free Fan, who won the first two races June 16, 1961, combined for the second largest double ($3,750).
