INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 2, 2008) -All Man, who had beaten odds-on favorite Albertus Maximus two starts back on Cushion Track, switched to turf and posted an 8-1 upset under jockey Martin Pedroza in Wednesday's $61,000 allowance feature at Hollywood Park.
All Man, trained by Julio Canani for Everest Stables, covered one mile on the Lakeside Turf Course in 1:34.93 while beating fourth choice Wing Forward by a head. French-bred Bleu Intense finished third, while Knockout Artist was fourth and Albertus Maximus last in the field of five.
The victory - worth $36,600 - raised All Man's earnings to $171,282. The 5-year-old gelded son of Petionville won for the fourth time in 20 starts.
All Man paid $19.80, $7.80 and $4.20, while Wing Forward returned $5.20 and $3.60. The show payoff on Bleu Intense was $2.20.
There were also several upsets in the Pick Six races, resulting in a carryover of $87,021 on Thursday at Hollywood Park.
Thursday's program begins at 7:05 as Hollywood Park races at night to begin the holiday with a 1:20 p.m. post time on Friday's Independence Day program.
