(June 27, 2008) - Eastern shipper Go Between, who traveled west earlier in the year to win the Sunshine Millions Classic and to run second in the Santa Anita Handicap, is the 5/2 favorite on a revised morning line for Saturday's $750,000 Hollywood Gold Cup following the scratch Friday of 123-pound high weight Heatseeker.
Tiago, winner of the Santa Anita Derby, Swaps Stakes and Goodwood in 2007 and of the Oaklawn Handicap in 2008, is second choice in the field of nine at 3-1, while Pimlico Special and 2007 Pacific Classic winner Student Council is listed at 9/2.
The field in order of post with Hollywood Park odds-maker Russell Hudak's revised line for Saturday's 69th running of the Gold Cup:
Mast Track, 12-1; Perfect Drift, 8-1; Tiago, 3-1; Racketeer, 8-1; Student Council, 9/2; Go Between, 5/2; McCann's Mojave, 12-1; Big Booster, 8-1, and Spice Route, 15-1.
The Gold Cup will run as the tenth of eleven races on Saturday's program with post time at 4:43 p.m. First post is at 12 noon.
