Lady Of Venice Among Nine Graded Winners
Invited To $750,000 CashCall Mile On July 5
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 22, 2008) - Defending champion Lady of Venice and eight other graded stakes winners are among the 12 fillies and mares invited to the 11th running of the CashCall Mile on July 5 at Hollywood Park.
The list for the Grade II event includes three Grade I winners - 2007 CashCall runner-up Precious Kitten who won The Matriarch here at one mile last November and the Gamely on May 26; Ventura, who beat Lady of Venice by three-quarters of a length in the Just a Game Handicap at Belmont Park on June 7, and Vacare, winner of the First Lady two starts back and the 2006 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland.
Besides Lady of Venice, other graded winners are Brownie Points, winner of the Ouija Board Handicap a Lone Star Park on May 26; Diamond Diva, winner of the Wilshire Handicap here in April and runner-up to Precious Kitten in the Gamely; Passified, winner of the Redondo Beach Handicap at one mile here June 7 and of the San Clement Handicap last summer at Del Mar; Roshani, winner of the Gallorette Handicap at Pimlico on May 17,and Wake Up Maggie, winner of the 2007 Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood in Great Britain and Long Beach Handicap here in mid-May.
Irish import Once Upon A Grace and La Tee and Fleet Caroline, second and third-place finishers, respectively, in the Redondo Beach Handicap, are also on the list.
