INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 12, 2008) - Pacesetter Quid Non held on in a tough three-horse battle to the wire to win Thursday's $53,000 allowance feature at Hollywood Park by a nose over even-money favorite Christiana's Heat with Charm N Broad another length back in third.
Quid Non, ridden by Joe Talamo, paid $23.20, $8.20 and $3.40 as the longest price in the field of six fillies and mares. Christiana's Heat, ridden by Michael Baze, paid $3 and $2.10, while the show payoff on Charm N Broad with Rafael Bejarano up was $2.60.
Quid Non, trained by Richard Rosales for Magenta Racing Inc., covered one mile on the Lakeside Turf Course in 1:35.46 while winning for the third time in ten starts. The winner's share of $31,800 raised the her earnings to $74,160.
Talamo and Baze each rode a pair of winners on the program.
