Wickednwackyingrid Hangs On In Hollywood Park Feature

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (May 22, 2008) - Odds-on favorite Wickednwackyingrid, caught late in her last three starts, went to the front from the start and held on in the stretch to win Thursday's $51,000 feature at Hollywood Park by three-quarters of a length under jockey Martin Pedroza.
The victory was the second in seven starts for Wickednwackyingrid, who has not been worse than third since finishing ninth in her career debut in October of 2007. She covered six furlongs on the Lakeside Turf Course in 1:08.51.
Wickednwackyingrid, owned by La Canada Stables and trained by Jack Carava, paid $3.80 while banking $30,600 to increase her earnings to $97,840.
Second choice Masterful Miss pressured Wickednwackyingrid on the backstretch, but was unable to seriously threaten in the stretch while finishing second under Tyler Baze. Remember Seattle was third in the field of five 3-year-old fillies, followed by Jody's Included and Dajolie.
