Federation of California Racing Associations, Director of Industrial Relations Position Open Position: Director of Human Relations The Federation of California Racing Associations, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose members include eight racing associations, nine racing fairs and two off-track wagering employees. The Federation represents its members in the negotiation and administration of labor agreements, grievance and arbitration hearings, and collects and consolidates data necessary to determine health and welfare eligibility, seniority, compensation rates, etc. The Federation of California Racing Associations, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Director of Industrial Relations in Southern California. The Director is responsible for developing labor policy, overseeing industrial labor relations, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, and coordinating grievance procedures to handle disputes with non-union and unionized employees represented by approximately 34 different unions operating at California racetracks. The Director also trains, advises, and collaborates with management teams regarding issues such as personnel policy, work practices and collective bargaining agreement content and responsibilities. Requirements: BA/BS Degree A Minimum of 10 years experience in a labor relations environment. Experience as the leader and spokesperson for negotiations relating to collective bargaining agreements. Expert knowledge and experience in preparation and presentation related to labor/management meetings and arbitration hearings. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and complex situations in a dynamic environment. Proven ability to resolve conflict. Excellent verbal, written, management and interpersonal communications skills. Must be willing and able to travel frequently throughout the state of California.
