CDSN Photo Princess Van Sickle, a Lawndale resident who has worked in Hollywood Park's accounting department since April of 1977, has been selected "Employee of the Week" by the track's Goodwill Ambassador Committee. Van Sickle remembers being sent to Hollywood Park as a "Kelly Girl" temporary worker in April of 1977. She was hired permanently in September. "When you start here," she says, "you just can't stand to leave." Her son William is employed in Hollywood Park's customer service department, which is managed by her sister, Patti Stoltenberg, whose husband, Art Holbrook, also works in customer service. "What I like most about working here is that it's always interesting," says Princess. "It's not the same old routine every day."
